A founding partner of Ramsden & Lyons, LLP, Michael Ramsden has extensive experience in the areas of civil litigation, medical malpractice defense, products liability defense, insurance law, professional malpractice defense, personal injury defense, employment law, commercial and business litigation, and governmental tort and civil rights litigation. Mr. Ramsden has over thirty years of experience in trial and appellate law in state and federal courts in Idaho and Washington. He is licensed to practice in the courts of Idaho and Washington, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Ramsden has tried numerous personal injury and professional malpractice defense cases, as well as many cases involving issues of products liability, personal injury, employment, commercial and business transactions, and governmental tort and civil rights issues. Mr. Ramsden's civil litigation experience covers an array of insurance and business related claims. He has represented medical doctors, lawyers, accountants, and other business professionals in Idaho and Washington. Mr. Ramsden is recognized as one of the premier professional malpractice defense attorneys in Idaho and Washington and has spoken extensively on the subjects of professional malpractice and errors and omissions, as well as other civil litigation defense related subjects.
Mr. Ramsden graduated in 1976 from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Philosophy. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Idaho in 1978. Mr. Ramsden has an AV-rating with Martindale-Hubbell. He is listed as a Mountain States Super Lawyer, is honored in The Best Lawyers in America, is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the Litigation Counsel of America, is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, and is involved in the Spokane Adjusters Association.
